Gourmet Chef at the Ronald McDonald House

Ronald McDonald House at the Children’s Hospital of Central California – May 1, 2012

There is nothing better than spending a couple of hours cooking for the children of the Ronald McDonald House! Seriously, such a heartwarming experience. Being a part of the Equestrian team, we volunteer multiple hours of community service each semester, and the Ronald McDonald House has been by far my favorite.

The team and I cooked around 30 various pizzas for the families on Tuesday. It was awesome. The coaching staff provided us all with every pizza topping possible! We had BBQ chicken, hawaiian, vegetarian, pepperoni, salami, cheese, and so much more, AND we have different sauces to go with it all, even some salad. Delicioso!

It was truly a blessing to cook all of these pizzas for the families at the Ronald McDonald House. They were so thankful for all of our hard work in the kitchen. A little girl came up to me after she ate, gave me a huge hug, and said thank you. It was so heartwarming.

I am so honored to say I am a member of the Fresno State Women’s Equestrian Team as we continuously volunteer in the community. Cooking for these families touched my heart and there was no better way to spend my Tuesday evening.
